Rewriting the Narrative

Wednesday 5 May | 10:30 - 12:30 | Sharon Hinsull

10 British pounds
Brook Arts Hub

Service Description

Writing for Wellbeing – Rewriting the Narrative Rewriting the Narrative is a core concept in narrative therapy where people view their lives as stories and realise they have the power to edit, reframe and author new chapters. The month of May provides a rich backdrop for healing and self-reflection, representing transition, blooming and the approaching shift from spring to summer. In this workshop, we will look at how we might go about rewriting our own narrative, challenging unhelpful automatic thoughts or memories associated with unresolved events from the past. By choosing to rewrite the ending, participants are encouraged to focus their attention on personal agency and alternative outcomes. Whilst forming part of an ongoing monthly series of Writing for Wellbeing events at Brook Arts Hub, each workshop can be booked on an individual basis. No previous writing experience is required, nor will there be any pressure to share anything you have written. Cost: £10 per person More information about Sharon’s therapy practice can be found by visiting: www.therapy-and-training.co.uk
