Dialogue with the Shadow
Wednesday 2 June | 10:30 - 12:30 | Sharon Hinsull
Service Description
Writing for Wellbeing – Dialogue with the Shadow The approaching summer solstice represents the longest day of the year and the peak of outer light, making it a powerful therapeutic metaphor for confronting your internal 'shadows'. In psychology, your 'shadow' consists of the hidden, rejected or unexamined parts of your psyche. Paradoxically, it is precisely when the sun is at its highest and brightest that shadows become the most sharply defined, distinct and impossible to ignore. In this month’s workshop, we will engage in a gently guided Dialogue with the Shadow, using expressive writing techniques to hold an inner conversation between ourselves and any emotions we might find difficult to deal with, such as anger, fear, or anxiety. Whilst forming part of an ongoing monthly series of Writing for Wellbeing events at Brook Arts Hub, each workshop can be booked on an individual basis. No previous writing experience is required, nor will there be any pressure to share anything you have written. Cost: £10 per person More information about Sharon’s therapy practice can be found by visiting: www.therapy-and-training.co.uk
