Portrait Day: Actor Christopher Saul

We are excited to present highly esteemed actor and playwright, Christopher Saul, as the sitting model for our next Portrait Day, Sunday 12 April.

Christopher became inspired to become an actor after playing Othello in lower sixth form at grammar school in Skegness. He trained at The Rose Bruford College of Speech and Drama followed by a string of rep productions as well as being in the original production of Fiddler on the Roof. In 1975, Saul came to the RSC and appeared in Buzz Goodbody's production of Hamlet alongside Ben Kingsley, Charles Dance and George Baker

TV work: This includes Play of the Month, Play for Today, The Professionals, the Doctor Who serial The Awakening, The Gentle Touch, Dempsey and Makepeace, The Bill (in numerous episodes, usually playing medical officers), Casualty, Agatha Christie's Poirot, One Foot in the Grave, London's Burning, Grange Hill, Coronation Street, Doctors, Judge John Deed…
