About the film:

H Is For Hawk is a biographical drama about Helen MacDonald coping with her father’s sudden death by training a wild goshawk named Mabel exploring grief, healing, and the human connection to nature.

The film follows Helen MacDonald (played by Claire Foy), a natural science academic, who is devastated by the sudden death of her father, Alisdair (Brendan Gleeson).
