About the event
Back due to popular demand, Editor and former Egyptologist at the British Museum, Lewis McNaught will give another Art Talk at Brook Arts Hub, Thursday 22nd January: For the Love of Ancient Egypt.
The British love for all things ancient Egyptian dates back to the 18th century. But how and where we exhibit our Egyptian artefacts has become contentious. Should we return treasured artefacts like the Rosetta Stone? Should we return or conceal the mummified remains of ancient Egyptians?
In this illustrated talk, Lewis McNaught, formerly a curator at the Department of Egyptian Antiquities at the British Museum, will pose questions the Egyptians want answered. The talk will include time for questions from the audience.
Spaces are limited to 30 so we advise you get your ticket as soon as possible to avoid disappointment.
We look forward to seeing you.
