About the event

Brushstrokes of Recovery: How I Mended What Medicine Couldn't

When I had my first 3 heart attacks, the doctors saved my life — but they couldn't quiet the fear that lingered, the anxiety that crept in at night, or the emotional weight that followed me home. Physically, I was slowly healing. But inside, I felt fractured in ways I didn’t even know how to name, let alone fix.

It wasn’t until I picked up a paintbrush, almost by accident,  that I began to access a kind of healing that medicine alone couldn’t provide. In this talk, I want to share how creativity became my therapy, how art gave voice to the feelings I couldn’t express in words, and how each brushstroke became a step toward reclaiming peace, presence, and a deeper connection to myself.
