Exhibition: Hope is a Waking Dream | 7 & 8 November 2026 | 10-4pm

An exhibition of artwork by Artist Robert Williams exploring themes of belonging, compassion, tolerance, equity, diversity and hope

This exhibition has four interdependent elements including over 40 pieces of new visual art by Artist Robert Williams. These are conceptually rigorous, expressive, hand-crafted collages, mosaics and palimpsest, monotype prints. In addition, the stories of local creative people, regarding their responses to the rising influence of divisive narratives, will also be exhibited.  

As a whole the project is modern and optimistic in exploring compassion, hope, diversity, tolerance and equity as forms of creative resistance to the increasing influence of racist ideas.

Recycling papers, plywood, wool, textiles, bandages, OSB, card, curtains and other materials to create collages, upon which the artist prints with stencils and collagraphs, allows exploration of both compassion and tolerance but also fragmentation. The mosaics are created…
