Three Little Birds Wire Workshop

55 British pounds
Brook Arts Hub

Unleash your inner artist and bring a little bit of nature indoors! Whether you’re a complete beginner who has never touched a pair of pliers, or a crafty soul looking to expand your skills, this workshop is designed to be a fun, relaxing, and supportive space to play. There is something truly magical about taking a simple length of wire and transforming it into a characterful little bird. In this session, we’ll explore the tools and techniques to create delicate and expressive chicks that look wonderful perched on their wooden block on a windowsill or mantlepiece. This isn't about rigid rules or perfect blueprints; it’s about capturing the spirit and personality of our feathered friends. We’ll start with the basics - how to manipulate different gauges of wire, which tools to use, and how to create a sturdy frame using a choice of templates. You’ll then learn how to "sketch" with wire to create the beak, tail and those spindly little legs. You can incorporate beads for eyes if you fancy. When it comes to the plumage, you can go for minimalist outlines or choose from various weaving and looping techniques to create the wing and chest feathers. Expect plenty of tea and cake and encouraging conversation. You’ll work at your own pace with plenty of one-on-one help whenever you need a hand. What’s included: Full Kit: All tools and materials are provided, including wooden display block. Refreshments: Tea, coffee and delicious cake while you create. Details: Suitability: Designed for ages 18+ (please inquire for younger crafters). Skill Level: Practical Beginners and experienced makers are all welcome.
