
Portrait Day: Actor Paul Greenwood

We are excited to present highly esteemed Actor and Writer, Paul Greenwood, as the sitting model for our next Portrait Day, Sunday 12 April. Paul's career include many leading roles with the Royal Shakespeare Company including: Feste in Twelfth Night; Antipholus of Syracuse in The Comedy of Errors; Lysander in A Midsummer Night's Dream; Mowbray in Richard II; Kent in King Lear; Scarecrow in The Wizard of Oz with Imelda Staunton; Goodlack in The Fair Maid of the West with Sean Bean; Polixenes in The Winter's Tale with Jeremy Irons; and Alonzo in Sam Mendes' production of The Tempest. Paul's work in London includes West End runs as Jerry in the RSC's Once in a Lifetime opposite Zoë Wanamaker and Theo in Piaf opposite Jane Lapotaire (Piccadilly Theatre). He has also appeared in a long number of acclaimed films such as Mike Leigh's Peterloo and Alan Bennett's A Day Out directed by Stephen Frears, and in TV, playing Superintendent Yelland in Spender opposite Jimmy Nail amongst others. As a writer, Paul’s plays include Dancing in the Dark which was performed at Stratford’s Other Place as part of the 2000 RSC Fringe Festival. It also had a run at the Off-West End Gate Theatre in London. His play Head and Heart was highly commended in the 2020 King Lear Prize and had a run, directed by Paul, at the Bear Pit in Stratford-upon-Avon in 2024. Paul’s new thriller Playing Dead is in development with a view to production in 2025. At Brook Arts Hub we encourage a variety of art forms and experimentation. This is not a taught class, but for anyone who enjoys being creative and creating portraits. No experience is needed, the session is open to all, at all levels. A good portrait is about catching someone’s inner life – and there are no rules for that. All the artworks will be on display at Brook Arts Hub for 4 weeks. The portrait session will run from 11am until 3pm, including breaks and refreshments. Price: £20 Concession: £10 * students * people on income support * unwaged people For this session we can host a maximum of 20 people. Proceeds will go in aid of Brook Arts Hub.
