Chinese Brush & Ink Workshop

Explore painting techniques from the Far East in this Brush-and-Ink Workshop with artist James Robinson. For over 6000 years, artists from China, Japan and South Korea have used masterful brushwork to paint and draw beautiful landscapes and traditions of Asia. Coventry-based artist, James Robinson was lucky enough to be taught by Chinese artists and spent 5 years developing this exciting art skill while living in South Korea, 10 years ago. At the workshop, you will learn to: - Hold and manoeuvre the brush in oriental style, learning to write your name in Chinese characters. - Work with Chinese ink and different brushes to paint trees, clouds, waterfalls and rocks in East Asian style to create your own landscape. - Draw and colour a dragon or bird using the skills you have learnt. All materials are included as well as tea/coffee and biscuits.
