Beginner Basket Workshop – Make Your First Basket. A beginner’s willow weaving course. Always wanted to make your own basket? This beginner-friendly course is the perfect place to start. Over four weekly sessions, you’ll be gently guided through the basic techniques of traditional willow weaving—no experience needed. You'll learn how to: • Select and handle natural willow • Weave a sturdy round base • Stake up to create basket sides • Join base to sides using a 3-rod wale • Finish with a simple border • Add a handle if you wish With plenty of one-to-one support and a relaxed, friendly atmosphere, you’ll leave with your very first handmade basket—completely unique and crafted by you. A hands-on, satisfying introduction to a timeless craft. All tuition, tools and materials will be provided as well as refreshments. Minimum of 4 participants required to allow course to run.
